Knurled Pins

Knurled Pins

Knurled Pins are used in a variety of applications in the screw machine, fastener, plastics and automotive industries. Knurling is most commonly used for serrating surfaces where component parts must lock together in unit assemblies.

Knurling is the process by which material is displaced when a die with the opposite form is rolled across the work surface. The resulting form is a series of V-shaped impressions on the circumference of the piece whose overall configuration can either be a straight, diagonal or diamond pattern.

Most metals can be knurled, including steel, stainless, brass and aluminum. Fostermation, Inc. can assist you in the exact material grade, tensile selection and knurl form specification to maximize product performance for your particular application.
